Comin’ Down in the Rain
Last night, at the last minute, Tanya’s employers offerred us tickets to see James Taylor at Chastain Park with them. They’d bought a table and apparently two of their friends bailed. We debated it for the entire hour we had to make a decision and finally decided we’d be on crack if we didn’t go. But we were tired and cranky after work and the storms Monday night woke us up a bunch and wah wah. So we went. And frankly, I can’t imagine a better performer to hear in the rain in a park in June. It was muggy and sold-out and damp and lovely. I did not call you and hold my cell phone up so you could hear how good he sounded. I’m sorry but I was too busy listening. Many thanks to the Butlers, who were lots of fun to spend the evening with.
And still, despite being out until almost midnight, despite the ache in my arms from yesterday’s upper body, despite the raucus clanging of my LAZY siren, I hauled my butt to the gym at 5:45 and did the cardio. Yes, yes I did. Tell me I’m pretty.
