You Know What I Like?

Pie.

Our friend Nicole made the most amazing apple pie the other night. And of course, I decline her offer of bringing some leftovers home. What have I been thinking about for two solid days? Pie.

Maybe an extra 10 minutes on the elliptical will wipe all memory of pie from my mind but I doubt it. That was some kinda pie, ya’ll.

Home Alone

Tanya’s mother returned home today so we will spend our first night alone in the new place. We’re both so tired I doubt we’ll make very good use of the time, though. We’ll probably collapse on the couch and watch television.

The apartment looks amazing. We love our new living room and the porch is huge. The cats act like nothing ever happened, despite being insane on Saturday. Arwen ripped hell out of Terry’s leg when she tried to scoop her up and put her in the carrier. Now she’s all, “Move? What move?” Crazy-ass cat.

We have already managed to over-flow the toilet and flood the downstairs neighbors. I’m sure they’re thrilled with us. What can I say, the plumbing is not the best here. And this morning during a monsoon I discovered that the gutters for the building drain right onto the sidewalk at the foot of the stairs, creating a remarkable lake in the path to the parking lot.

And for some reason I still don’t seem to be getting any mail.

Other than that…things are pretty nice. And now to get ready for the sale.
