Moved

Well, we’ve done it. We’ve moved again. I’ll post some pictures in a day or two when there aren’t so many boxes piled up everywhere.

Big shout-outs go to Tanya’s mother for tireless cleaning, decorating and unpacking help, to Michael for being the best moving teammate EVAH!, to Katie and Nicole and Christy for painting, tools, ladders and lifting, and to Rebecca N., who suggested we use Rite Way movers–three guys that really busted their butts and remained friendly and helpful the entire time. They got the job done in three hours and not a thing got damaged. They pretty much rocked.

And now I’ll just say that we love this apartment. Small as it is it’s got so much going for it and we keep finding new things about it that are terrific. There is also the usual list of broken crap that the leasing office is supposed to get fixed–the most annoying of which is the missing aerator on the kitchen sink. Water keeps spraying all over the counters everytime we turn it on. I just washed broccoli and mushrooms in the bathroom.

We’re burnt out on fast food and junk so we’re going to grill tonight and take a jump in the pool. Tanya and Terry just ran to Home Depot to get supplies for hanging shelves and mirrors and art and such. Moss does not grow under Tanya when decorating is involved. We’ll be ready to entertain guests by Tuesday, mark my words.

I’ve hooked up all major electronics and impressed the hell out of the cable guy the other day with my home theater setup. We’ve busted out the kitchen and the bathroom and a good deal of the other stuff. I’m worn out and looking forward to bed tonight. But I’ve got groceries in the house and a 5:30 a.m. gym appointment and fully intend to get my body back into gear this week. Who knows, the week of sin may actually help kick-start my weight loss.

For those of you in Atlanta, look for us to be hosting some kind of gathering here soon. At the very least, we’ve got to have everyone over to check out the brick-red dining room and the moss green bedroom wall. The colors Tanya picked are super cool.

Cheers!
