Hello

This weekend we drove over to the Newberry Opera House in Newberry, S.C. to visit with Tanya’s brother. That IMDB entry sucks and despite his growing body of work, Tyler is largely absent on the Web. I keep encouraging him to change that but so far I’m making little progress.

We had a super visit and really enjoyed the show. Afterwards we hung out in a little dive of a bar with the rest of the cast, including this woman, who was lovely, and a dude named Chris Wilkes, who told us on our way out of town that we were “a hoot!” I’ll take his word for it.

The visit with Tyler turned out to be just what we needed in terms of getting our heads back in the moving game. It was a reminder that what we’re doing makes sense, that we have plans and dreams that this move will help us achieve. Talking about them with him helped clarify them even more. I’m not sure I can really explain it any more than that but it was renewing and very helpful.

And, despite all the driving and visiting, we managed to pack the hell out of the apartment, and continued to do so last night. We’re very close to being as done as we can be until Friday without having to stay at a hotel. Yesterday I finally managed to transfer the utilities. So, only a few more days and we’re out of this building that seems to be falling down around our ears lately, and into our new little shoebox, which at least has a fireplace, vaulted ceilings and a nice wooded view.

Gym Report

Upper body yesterday was super. Cardio this morning was uninspired. I’m tired and not getting the usual amount of sleep this week. I told Michael this morning that I’d probably have to take Friday and Saturday off in order to move. I just can’t see needing to lift weights for an hour right before carrying my kitchen up three flights of stairs. Seems unneccessary.
