We’re Back!

Safe, sound and tired. I’m having post-beer-drinking-stupor related blahs and a busy, busy day at work so forgive me if I don’t say anything of interest today. I slept in. I did not make it to the gym. I am annoyed about that but I really wasn’t feeling it this morning and it didn’t happen. I did get up early Saturday morning and walk/jog about 2 miles around Paducah’s Bob Noble park, however, so technically I’ve only missed one day of exercise. I could have been much worse.

I wish I had pictures to post but again, I forgot to the take the camera. Der. Rob posted some though.

It was a good trip and not a bad drive. The wedding was lovely–it took place in a church sanctuary that resembled the inner belly of an ancient ship turned upside down–very Noah’s arc. Christopher took a photo of one of the more unusual stained-glass windows that he’ll hopefully post soon. And now Sarah and Nicholas are cute and married and on the way to a honeymoon in the Virgin Islands.

Paducah didn’t get rave reviews from some but as for Tanya and I, well, we thought it was just fine. But then, we’ve both spent more than our fair share of time in small towns. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon of shopping and browsing along the river, watching tourists from the Mississippi Queen disembark. We then had a really nice dinner at a local steakhouse/brew pub, which unfortunately, was not currently brewing anything, but the food was great.

So yeah, wedding, Paducah, Fourth of July fireworks on the Ohio River, all with my favorite people outside of my own family–you could say we had a really nice time. Oh, and cheers to Aunt Pam–we didn’t mean to make you feel snubbed during the reception, we were just kinda off in our own world up there on the balcony.
