AIDS Walk
Unless your SPAM filters snagged it, many of you probably received a solicitation from me today for the 2003 AIDS Walk. I’ve also added links over there on the left. I think this is our third walk, although for the last few years we’ve just sponsored Michael and walked with him. This year I decided to stop being so lazy and raise some money myself.
Tanya is also walking so if you’d like to split your donation, that’s cool too. Or if you’d rather not contribute money for an out of town charity, send a donation to a local agency in the spirit of things.
I can’t really express how amazing I think AID Atlanta is. When we attended the AIDS 101 seminar in 2000 I was blown away by what we saw and heard. And the work they do directly with folks who are living with AIDS and HIV is hugely important.
Since we’ve all been with the exercise and dieting routine for these last several months there is some discussion of running a portion of the route. Michael recently ran a 5K in just over 35 minutes so he’s feeling powerful. I’ll never make it that far or that fast but I may try to do as much as I can. There are a lot of hills involved here though and I am really not a runner.
Gym Report
Mixing up our weights at the gym continues to be a great idea. I was able to get through 20 lb. curls and one arm rows this morning for the first time. I usually get about half-way through the 20 lb. sets and fall over dead, so this was a big improvement.
Survivor
It’s almost time to make my picks for this week’s bootee and such. I have to confess that while I got the picks right in my blog last week I apparently failed to go to the game site and update my choice for the bootee. Therefore, I did not get points for that answer, which makes me livid. This will undoubtably please Christina, however, who has also registered for the game.
At the moment I’m leaning toward Ryan S. for the boot. He was a target last week and Andrew is a very strong voice at the moment. I suspect he’ll try again to get rid of the geek. I’ll be sorry to see him go. He has some interesting potential but no real way to make himself valuable to the team.
