Things You Don’t Need
Car trouble. This time it was Tanya’s car and it was apparently the battery, which the tow truck driver described as “fried.” Looking at it myself I’d say the description was apt. It was all gunked up and corroded looking. The thing is barely two years old but I’ll bet it isn’t covered under warranty.
Anyway, it won’t be that expensive but this has been a week of necessary splurging for us — between Tanya’s new eyewear and seasonal clothing for the both of us, the discretionary fund has already seen a lot of discretion. Or something. So, next week will be rather boring in our household.
Server Crashes. Ours went down this morning and of course, there’s a big meeting going on and everybody needs access to meeting documents from the Web site. Meh. Not my problem but still my concern.
Props
Many thanks to Laura for e-mailing me some recipes, Rebecca for volunteering to eat them and Samantha for suggesting a cookbook that sounds ideal.
Samantha works for Adobe and lives in a big house on an island in Washington state. She has pugs. She takes a ferry to work. She might come visit me on sabatical this year! Truth be told, I’d rather go see her (see big house, island and pugs). But I’m okay with any chance to see her, here or there.
Speaking of visits, Rino and Steve are coming to visit next week.
So, when are the rest of you coming to see me?
