Rainy Days and Mondays

It is nasty outside and the temperature is dropping really fast. If only the power would go out. Not that they’d send us home or anything but I suspect that a power outage would liven this day right on up.

I’m feeling a little better today than I felt on Friday. I worked out twice this weekend, which I never do and this morning we did a really good weight session. Extra workouts won’t completely erase a week’s worth of food sin but they can’t hurt.

Life Stuff

I’m considering two possible continuing education options right now and can’t seem to make up my mind which one to pursue. Evening at Emory offers Web Design and Web Development programs, both of which would shore up my skills and look really great on paper. Georgia Perimeter has a Business track in Project Management that would prepare me to take the PM certification exam, which would also look great on paper and may be more in line with the direction I’m trying to steer my career.

The money is the same either way so that isn’t a factor. The thing that is hanging me up is that while the PM stuff is more in track with what I’m trying to do, the Web stuff would be equally helpful in my professional and personal life and shit, it’s Emory. When given a choice between Emory and GPC, the academic snob in me wants to veer towards the snootier school. Go figure. I don’t actually have to make a decision until January but I’d like to have something planned out by Christmas.

Holiday Stuff

We take off Wednesday morning for Louisiana, where we’ll be spending the Thanksgiving break with Tanya’s step-mother and grandmother. I’m looking forward to the get away and to the visit. Doubt if there will be anymore shoes in the deal but one can always hope. Heh. They’re good people and the food will most likely be amazing. And I hear there will be pie. Lord knows how much I love the pie.

Fun Stuff

Tomorrow morning I’m hopping a MARTA train downtown to grab a quick breakfast and visit with AKMA and Margaret and Shannon and Laura (who have graciously allowed me to crash their date). I am very much looking forward to it.
