Silly Georgia

Every news channel in the metro area and probably beyond is featuring extensive coverage of the “North Georgia Winter Storm” of 2004. Yes the roads are yucky. Yes there are 23,000 GA Power customers out of electricity apparently. And yes, everyone should avoid the roads. But the DRAMA! Good lord! The drama. Everything always looks more terrible in the dark, filmed with spot lights pointed at oncoming traffic.

Anyone who has ever experienced winter north of Tennessee/Kentucky knows that this is just a free day from work and school for a lot of people. Tomorrow and beyond the temps are supposed to rise to the 60s. A Day of “winter” weather conditions at best and then we’re back to our weird pattern of cold and gross followed by a Spring weather tease.

I chose not to brave driving to the gym but I will have to go to work. No closed office for the IT folks.

As a complete non-sequitur, I’m anxious to hear more about Jennifer and Geoffrey’s trip out west for the big gay nuptials.

Survivor

Yeah, I’ve been sucking in the Survivor update department. But ya’ll! They voted off my Rob. He was so pathetic in his final words–you could tell how crushed his ego was. He had that shell-shocked, glassy-eyed look of a man who has just found out his ex thought he was a terrible lover and his penis was too small. Poor Rob. He may be scarred for life.

I don’t want to talk about Jerri because you know what’s happening there. Yes, exactly what I said I wouldn’t allow. If I knew right now how to link to my own archived entries I’d do it, but I don’t. So there.

I know they don’t ever show us everything but I wish we’d seen a little bit of pride swallowing from Rupert over that shelter. Obviously the guy felt terrible but he made a pretty big butt out of himself over building that and I wish they’d shown him conceding that to the tribe a little more humbly.

Everybody else so far? Boring. Rob and Amber and their little romance? Feh. Richard and Colby would be a lot more entertaining than that juvenile crap.
