Holy Bombshells Batman!

My boss told me this morning that due to an unexpected illness, I’m going to have to attend the gigantic meeting and expo. That means I leave Saturday morning for the Windy City. It’s something like -7° in Chicago today. I’m not especially excited about this trip. Mostly because it’s a tremendous amount of work and endless professional socializing for 5 days. Some people who work this thing don’t sleep a lot of the time they’re there. Also, if I’d been given normal notice of this in the fall we would have arranged for Tanya to take some time off and fly up with me for a little mini-break in Chicago with my sister Emily.

I’m sure that I’m going to learn a lot and that professionally this is going to be a good experience. But I’m not entirely thrilled about 5 days away from home in a hotel in a city where the high is very low, making chit-chat and small talk with thousands of business men.

So yeah, I’m a little wigged out.
