Stuff I Forgot

  • Police will heretofore be known as the Po Po, thanks to my sister.
  • Click it or ticket!
  • Chris is my hero for remembering the Hibernia apartments and driving us through there on Tuesday night. If he hadn’t, I doubt we’d have found them and then we’d be living in a tiny little hovel. All hail Chris.
  • My sister has an Avon Lady. Her name is Doug.
  • Some of you have asked which floorplan we picked. It’s the Edenderry, first floor. The best thing about it is that there are windows on three walls, not just one, as has been our experience everywhere in Atlanta. The living area has so much natural light it’s amazing. We’ll have to invest in more curtains.
  • Fire code in Columbus is not as restrictive as it is here, which means that I can finally get myself an outdoor grill! I am stupidly happy about that.
  • There is apparently one African American resident of Mount Vernon, Kentucky. I never saw him but they used him on the cover of a brochure we picked up at the all white Denny’s. The only such Denny’s I have ever been in. It was so white it actually gave us the creeps.
  • The visual estimate for the damages to the car cha-chinged in at $3,700. I have no idea what that total will look like after they take the car apart and really get in there to see what’s going on. But I will tell you that the ass-end of that vehicle is completely crooked and the bumper looked like Swiss cheese thanks to a plow attachment fixed on the grill of his ride.
