For Hire

Would You Hire This Woman?

Now that we’ve had a week to settle in here, the job search began in earnest yesterday. We each spent at least four hours on the computer doing everything from refining our resumes to scouring job ads on every board imaginable. I contacted my cousin the headhunter in the hopes that something might crop up through him (use what you’ve got) and Tanya even applied to take the civil service exam for some state jobs.

On the whole it felt like a productive day, now we just have to hope someone, anyone, calls us.

The apartment is shaping up nicely. There are still some things that need to be hung on the walls, a load of stuff that needs to go to my parent’s basement and a few more small boxes to find homes for. The biggest problem now is the continued presence of these damn cabinets. The leasing office will be getting another phone call from me today.

Apart from that, we had a really nice visit with my sisters and hope to see more of my local family this week, including my grandmother who is most likely annoyed with me for not calling sooner than last night or else she’s annoyed that I still have a long distance number and would rather let me call her back. She did not return my call. I did have an hysterical conversation with my granddad about being old, having surgery and taking metamucil. I’m still laughing at that one.

More pictures just as soon as we actually get out of the house and go do something.
