Used to be

I Used to be Funny
I’ve been struggling to come up with something interesting to write about so I went back and glanced over some archived entries and was amused to discover that I used to be funny. Apparently my funny is on hiatus at the moment. Mostly because nothing seems to happen at all right now.
Our days are long, boring and full of the same things. We look for jobs. We read and watch television. We eat, sleep, etc.
Fortunately, last night was given a good shake up by a visit from Jamie, who always makes me laugh and managed to keep us up past 11, a feat virtually unheard of for me these days.
We’ve gotten out a few times — most notably a brief jaunt to the Short North district to check out the galleries and shops Tuesday. Problem is that trips like that aren’t quite as much fun when you feel like you can’t spend any money.
The highlight of today? Tanya is leaving the apartment for half an hour to get a haircut! First haircut in Ohio–it’s a milestone!
We are almost unspeakably lame. Thank goodness for Jenny and Chris and Jamie, who’s visits will likely keep us sane until things pick up.
Meanwhile, I’ll keep trying to think up a funny story to tell ya’ll. Or you can tell one on me in the comments.
[Edited to add] On the way out the door for the haircut Tanya announced to me that her new hairdresser’s name is Shasta. Which is made all the more amusing by the fact that they guy who signed me up for the gym membership? His name is Medley. I want to fix them up.
