Do It Yourself Blog
I started off the day in a fairly good mood, having taken some steps yesterday to rustle up a variety of freelance work and applying to a number of new ads posted on various message boards. I kept thinking I should update the blog but I couldn’t come up with anything interesting to write about. Unfortunately I put it off too long and now the afternoon finds me cranky and moody. I’m female, it happens like that.
Therefore, this blog entry is a Do It Yourself Blog. This means I’m throwing the doors open for any of you to pose a question to me. Any question on any topic. If said topic is appropriate I’ll answer it in the blog. If not, I’ll possibly answer it in an e-mail. Questions can be posted in the comments box or sent by e-mail. If nobody bites on this invitation then none of you can ever complain again if this blog stands idle for more than a week. So there.
Questions
Mark asks, “Why does punctuation, matter!”
A: Because poor punctuation makes you look and sound like an asshat. Whereas proper use of all those little squiggly symbols assures that you look and sound as brilliant as you are.
Terry asks, “Did you watch “Amazing Race” Tuesday?”
A: Why yes, yes we did! And it was a fabulous finale. Perhaps the most exciting one the show has had to date. We were totally on the edges of our seats and screaming cheers for Chip and Kim. Wish it had been the Moms but if it couldn’t be them, C&K were the next best choice. Anybody but those insipid models and that whiney Colin and Christi.
Mark also asks, “How much is enough?”
A: It depends.
Christina asks, “Just how long DO I have to stay in the office on my last day here ever?”
A: You may now leave.
Curious In Ohio (a.k.a. Mom) asks, “I taped Lost and have not yet watched it-so please no spoilers. Did you like it? Will it hook you?”
A: I will continue to watch but am reserving judgment for another few episodes. There is one thing that isnt working for me so far but I wont go into that per your no-spoilers request.
Rebecca asks, “Are the leaves changing color in Ohio yet?”
A: No, not really. Hopefully soon. Our weather has been pretty much like yours for the last week or two but with less rain.
Christopher asks lots of questions, which I’m not sure is allowed but he’s under a lot of stress right now so I’ll give him a pass:
“What is Tanya’s new job like?”
A: Well, today she got puked on.
“Isn’t it Fall there yet? Shouldn’t we be seeing some Autumn color photographs soon on Flickr?”
A: See above answer to Rebecca’s question.
“What did you learn from your recent long-distance move that we should know? (In other words, what haven’t we thought of yet?)”
A: Everything will not go the way you expect/want it to no matter how hard you try to plan. Expect delays and be prepared to make mental adjustments and not take things as a personal assault by the universe.
“What’s in your fridge?”
Assorted condiments, including a variety of mustards
A veggie platter
Beer
Coke, Diet Sprite, Diet Coke, Caffeine Free Diet Coke
Turkey breast
Bacon
Bag salad
Shredded cheese
Soy Milk
2% Milk
Leftover potatoes
Leftover roast
Butter
Salad dressing
Salsa
Mushrooms, Oyster and Portabello
Katie asks, “What is the gestation period of an Indian elephant?”
A: Between 630 to 660 days. This is the longest gestation period of any land animal. Poor girls. You’d think they’d have a higher percentage of lesbians among them. Oh wait, some lesbians actually want to have babies.
Christina asks, “Do fish drink?”
A: Yes! Also, I drink like a fish.
Heather asks, er well, actually, Heather poses a discussion topic: “The agony of shopping for a broadband provider who serves your area, while using a 26.4k modem?”
A: I’m sure others will have input on this one but I’ll just say that they all suck rocks and you might as well go with the cheapest provider you can find who serves your neck of the woods. You won’t get any customer service no matter how much you pay so you might as well go cheap.
Loren asks, “What makes brown eggs brown and white eggs white?”
A: Genetics. The shell color is determined by the coloring of the hen. However, there is no nutritional difference between the two. Though I hear that racial tensions run high in the supermarket. Why do you think so many eggs get broken at the store?
