The Saga Continues

Interviews in retail hell went pretty well. One store said they’d let me know next week once they’d figured out exactly how many hours they need to fill right now. The other needs me to come back for a second interview.

Today, Tanya was officially offerred a postion as a pre-school teacher, so, as I predicted, at least one of us is more or less employed now. She takes another civil service exam on Tuesday morning for a social work position with the state. That’s a job she sincerely wants, so continue to send good vibes her way as she prepares for that. And thanks for all your e-mails and phone calls of concern for us in the last few days as we’ve tried to hammer out our income for the next few months.

The weekend promises to be packed and fun with dinner at Jennifer’s tonight and two Labor Day related cookouts. We’ll be missing all the folks at DragonCon this year though. It feels strange that they’re all there and we’re here. Though I’ve got to say I’m glad to know they’re safe on dry land as Frances edges closer. I would like for Jeff and Loren to please stay safe and hide if need be. Got that?
