Fall

Take a Picture Here, Take a Souvenir

I freely admit to being a Flickr addict. We were heading out to watch the terrible Ohio State football game at Jen’s Saturday and I ran back in to get the camera because I’d noticed all the colors on the trees. I told Tanya, “I need new shots for flickr–if the same pictures stay in that box for too many days I get antsy.”

And thus, foliage photos in Flickr.

We’re getting a taste of the season right now, with temps dropping below 40 at night and highs in the mid-fifties. Although I heard this morning that it’s going to warm up again this week into the 70s, only to drop again over the weekend. The typical seasonal clothing conundrums ensue. Layers are the only way to go.

The retail gig is not panning out. Simply put, they don’t seem interested in giving me any shifts. The last time I worked was my two-hour training shift LAST Saturday. That’s more than a week ago and I’m not on their radar again until this coming Saturday. At the moment I’m feeling like it’s hardly worth it but I haven’t bagged yet. We’ll see how things go with my interview tomorrow morning.

The contract gig I’m doing right now is super but it’s not really full time. I’m talking with an agency in the morning and will find out what my options are for permanent or freelance work through them.

Tanya and I agreed that this was the nicest Saturday we’d had in months, hinging largely on the fact that we both got paychecks on Friday, making Saturday finally feel like a day of rest and relaxation, instead of just one more day of the week to sit and stare at the television. It’s nice to have my Saturdays back.
