Gosh

Gosh
Time flies when you’re sick as a dog. I’ve spent most of the last seven days on some kind of cold medication or other. It’s the crud that will not quit.
But enough about that. Who wants to read about snot.
Last week was pretty mundane until Friday, when my mother popped into town to do some wedding-related business. Jennifer, Tanya and Mom got manicures/pedicures thingies at the mall while I shopped for cheapo video games. EBS had used Playstation games for $3.99! Tanya and I are now battling our way through the original Tomb Raider. Good times.
After the foot care routine we grabbed dinner at a Mongolian barbecue place and shopped some more–I got a sweatshirt at Old Navy for $3.73. I was on a bargain terror Friday night, ya’ll.
Is this exciting yet? Cuz it’s all I’ve got.
Oh. I’m almost ashamed to admit that my mother was forced to buy me new shoes when she saw the gaping hole in the heel of my old ones. I’m more than a little too old for that kind of thing but I do love my new shoes.
Saturday I coughed and blew my way to Toledo. Yes, that’s right, Toledo. Ever been there? Not much to it. Tyler’s theater company was in town for the weekend doing Pirates so we spent the day with him and his new lady friend, Abby, at yet another mall. They are good people and great company, so despite the complete and utter lack of anything interesting to see or do, we had a very nice time.
And yesterday was Tomb Raider and reading in my pajamas all day with the brief exception of a run to the grocery store for staples. I can tell this entry has you glued to the monitor.
The one interesting thing in this whole entry is this. I got an e-mail from my contract company informing me that my presence is required during a “kickoff meeting” for a new project on Wednesday. Which lets me know that in addition to the project I’m already working on, which goes through February, they intend to throw me into another project, thus assuring that I will have work through Christmas, and hopefully more hours.
The job is great and my only complaint has been that so far my biggest billable week was 26 hours. With two projects at the same time, that is bound to change.
Later this week I’ll try to write about something more interesting than my life. Like television, perhaps.
