Shaking the Tree
This update is a bit of a brain dump in the interest of putting up something new. Nothing as interesting as B-Fest has happened in the last 10 days.
Things I’ve Done
Worked on lots of flow charts. This job is exercising my brain and eyes in lots of ways and it’s easy to see how certain parts of the mind can atrophy over time from neglect. My strengths are in the organization of content and ideas. This job focuses on the organization of processes and functions. Conceptually that’s not a big leap. In terms of representing this kind of organization on paper, however, it’s taxing.
Information creates its own natural order in my head and lends itself to presentation in a fairly straight-forward way. Objects and actions are often logical in my head, but drawing shematics and connecting the dots is a much bigger challenge for me from head to paper–or in this case, to an Illustrator document.
So yeah, lots of working. All good, just new.
Gone to the gym. Some. I’m still struggling to find a new routine but I’m still going. Tanya also joined and is probably going more often than I am right now.
Went to a Super Bowl Party. Mandy and Eric have a bigger television than my Dad’s. Frightening, but fun. And their dog is sweet.
Caught up on the new season of Carnivale thanks to On Demand TV. The mind boggles.
Things I’m Looking Foward To
The arrival of my new iPod Shuffle. Samantha loves me, but apparently Apple does not. Yesterday the Dock arrived all by itself. Can’t do much with a dock when you don’t have the iPod. What a tease.
Hopefully getting my damn Tivo setup this weekend. It sits there taunting me. I have to get the phone turned on for this, and that is why it hasn’t happened yet. Maddening.
A new episode of Lost tomorrow night. This show is the best thing to hit television since the first season of Survivor.
Speaking of, a new Survivor starts next Thursday!
Things That Suck
My car still sitting dead in the parking lot.
Jen’s Chris breaking his nose and having surgery today to fix it.
Taxes. ‘Nuff said.
Coming Up
Tanya spends a weekend in Florida with her friend Jeanette.
I attend the dreaded, Pampered Chef Party.
And there you have it. While you’re waiting on me to write something more entertaining in the future (as if you’re all just sitting around with baited breath), lots of people are writing interesting tales over there in my links. And I’ve added a few new ones recently.
Also, Flickr is an incredible time waster. If you haven’t explored it beyond glancing at some of my pictures I highly recommend you take the time. Browse through the “Tags” area as a starting point.
And Christina of Stegasaurus will be in Hawaii this week with her camera, very likely posting fabulous pictures. Christopher will be there soon too, so between the two of them, Flickr is probably the spot to watch.
Heeeheee, the pampered chef party, thanks for representing the sister quotient at that one!

I went to a pampered chef party a few years ago (breast cancer research fundraiser). I spent way too much money and still use just about everything I bought.

Sam, I remember Sam! Cool!
Green with envy for Chris & Christina, A B&B in Hawaii just sounds too good! Rain rain go away!

I Remember Sam. Is that a song or a movie? Hmmmm.
