Big Sky

A Night at the Opera and a Couple of Caches

On Saturday night about 25 members of my family converged on the city of Athens, Ohio to witness my cousin Sara’s debut as Susanna in Mozart’s, Le Nozze di Figaro at the Ohio University theater. Wow doesn’t quite convey how impressive she was. There is a lot of music in my family but as far as I know, Sara is the only one of us for several generations to take it to this level. And she’s good. Amazingly good. The whole evening was terrific, despite the fact that everyone had sore butts from sitting on lousy theater seats for three hours.

What's next, Big Sky?

Now that the weather is cooperating, Geocaching is once again on the menu. If only as an excuse to take pictures of pretty things. Getting out and taking pictures and exploring all of the area parks has renewed my interest in getting a bicycle and a new camera. Unfortunately, Uncle Sam and the transportation problem have to be dealt with first.

Speaking of transportation, I think I’ll be heading up to Boston mid-May to visit with Shannon and Laura and close the deal on the truck.

And that’s about it. I’ve had a cold for a week now, which has cramped my style a bit. All I’ve done is work, sleep and blow my nose. For those of you wondering, I’m not watching a single reality television program at the moment with any regularity. I’m keeping tabs on the American Idol finalists without actually sitting through it and I have a passing interest in how Rob and Amber are doing on Amazing Race but not enough of one to watch it.

Right now my television consists of Lost, CSI, the L Word and Queer As Folk. The last two on rented DVD or In Demand. And that is just about as exciting as it gets around here.
