The Daily Prophet

I’ve been feeling like a bit of a squib lately and I must confess, I only just bought the new Harry Potter book yesterday morning at 11. By the time I passed out from exhaustion last night I was well beyond page 400, which should put me in good shape to finish it up this evening. Only problem is that I also really want to watch the latest episode of Queer as Folk to find out if Michael survived the explosion at club Babylon (of course he did, right? They’re not going to kill MICHAEL!).
I have become (almost) shamelessly addicted to gay soaps. I used to be this addicted to ER and NYPD Blue but it’s been a while since a network television drama has hooked me. And frankly, QAF has been horrible this season (its last) as L-Word was horrible last season (its second). And yet, I keep watching.
I keep trying to get back into Six Feet Under but honestly, it hasn’t roped me in since the first season, which was so good it motivated me to subscribe to HBO in the first place. Now I can hardly make it through an episode without wanting to find something else to do.
And I haven’t watched a reality series (other than on TLC or Discovery) in months. The television largely stays off these days. Big Brother is lost on me. The Real World? No.
My evenings mostly consist of Web surfing, e-mailing, reading, phone calls and sleeping. And now, I guess they’ll also consist of packing. I got my new lease in the mail Thursday. I have to go deal with my current leasing office and put in my notice then get my shit together and move.
The round-up from last week, which I forgot to mention, included a visit to the dentist. And yo! My dentist is hot:
Unfortunately, no amount of hotness can take away the pain of being told you have three cavities–two of them in the same damn tooth. The one you KNEW that woman in Atlanta did a terrible job of filling back in 2003.
Up this week: The Eye Doctor!
Stay tuned for more scintillating mundanity from the Midwest.

Of course they’re not going to kill off Michael. It would be an improvement, but they won’t do it. Love Hal Sparks. Hate hate hate Michael.

I assume we’re talking about Rolando’s hotness?

Yes indeed.

You make me feel better. I got up early to watch QAF to find out what happened. Tell me how you feel about the ending once you’ve seen it.
And, yes it has been a horrible season. However, having seen all five seasons, I just have to find out what happens to the characters.

How did I not know that you watched QAF? Random!

We totally talked about it last year when you visited in August and we were at the Butler’s with Katie and Nicole.
Remember my whole “I watch the show because Brian and Justin are hot” thing?

Ugh. My brain has more or less removed or compartmentalized most of my memory of 2004. You’ll have to forgive my lapse in this area.

I’m curious what you’ll think about the end of Harry Potter.
I, too, am into QAF (surprise)…but wouldn’t mind terribly if they did kill off Michael. Right now everything seems to be traveling down the road of happily ever after as they end the series. Not that happy endings are bad, but I hope it doesn’t end tooooo sappy sweet.
I wish my dentist were a hotty, but I do have at least a gentle (non-sadistic) dentist. Good thing…I just had a root canal on Friday…so I can feel for you…
