Like so many other bloggers, I’ve gotten all worried about Salam Pax. I make no judgements as to his reality but I’m hooked and I can’t stop checking for a new post to reassure myself that he’s still around. The perspecitve is also helpful. Be safe, Salam. And that’s all I want to say about Operation Iraqi Freedom or whatever jargon riddled thing they’re calling this.

Oscars

Oscar party is Sunday night and I’ve decided that despite my ardent love for Julianne Moore, I think she got out performed this year by some other folks and therefore can’t pick her to win in either catagory. Nicole Kidman and Diane Lane outshone her as Best Actress and Catherine Zeta Jones blew me away as best supporting. I feel like a traitor for even typing that.

I can say with authority that the Oscar party menu will consist of at least Gangs of New York style cheesecake, because we’ve been asked to bring it, but I can’t even imagine what other oddities they’ll come up with. I’m not sure they can beat Marisa Tomei-to Bruscetta.
