Waiting for Tyler

Sweet!

12 days and counting. Those of us who bet he’d be here the first weekend of July sorely underestimated how much this kid likes it where he is. He’s more than 8 lbs right now. Two more weeks and he will be a bruiser.

I have revised my prediction to Friday for three reasons:

One, Jennifer consulted the Magic 8 Ball at the grocery store and it confirmed it.
Two, I will be on a plane to Dallas on Friday. This child is already determined to mess with me. He’s obviously going to be just like his father. Because, you know, it’s all about me. Heh.
Three, he knows that Grandma needs a vacation, BAD, and coming on Friday will maximize her time away.

Come on, Tyler! We’re dyin’ here.

  1. I bet he makes it at least until his official due date - first baby and all that. Sorry, Jennifer.

  2. That is okay Christina. I would like him to be here today but I know it is all up to him. I keep bribing him with toys and candy but so far it is not working :)

  4. Emily was over a MONTH late? Man, I don’t think I needed to know that was even possible. For one, my mom will be here a month after Gertie’s due date, and yeah - no. Besides, just on general principles, that’s just horrible.

  5. A month late and still tiny. I think she needed the extra cooking. Tyler is already 8 lbs. By my estimation, he’s baked. He’s just having a hard time finding the door.

  6. Maybe I should ask the Tarot, the cards predicted Inana’s birth would be 10/6, the Doctor’s say 10/1 and my instinct as of my last appointment says 10/10. Though I may be revising that at the next U/S, I swear she has doubled in the last 18 days. I haven’t asked a Magic 8 Ball yet, but it’s not a bad idea. :)

I’m glad I was born a month late, I agree with Amy, I needed the cooking.

Come on Tyler, you can do it!! I can’t wait to see you! Besides I’ve got a lifting restriction so I don’t want you to be too big at 2-3 weeks old when I arrive. Ha

  7. I will flip out if I go past my due date. I do not want a 10 pound baby. I am going to talk to my Dr. tomorrow about induction. Right now Tyler just seems comfortable where he is.

  8. Apparently, I may be in the same boat (overly large baby, or induction). Gertie’s measuring a couple weeks bigger than expected. Oh boy.

  9. Deep breaths, everyone. Listen to your doctors, stay off the pregnancy websites, and relax. Your little ones will be happy and healthy, whenever they might arrive.

  10. Yeah, but the end of pregnancy is no fun, I think is the point. :)

Well, Tyler, it was nice of you to give your Aunt Amy time for a trip to Dallas. Now you know what to do.
