November 4

Halfway through a full weekend. Thanks to EMo for calling me out on not posting. I’m back-dating this. That’s cheating, I know. Screw it. It’s my blog.
Friday night was mostly a ton of fun. OSUJenn’s friends are terrific and they made fried chicken. I mean really. How am I NOT going to like anyone who makes homemade fried chicken?
Jenn: Do you want to meet my friends? They’re making fried chicken.
Me: I’d love to meet your chicken–er, friends!
After dinner I went and picked Julie and Tommy up for shenanigans at Victoria’s Midnight Cafe. The three of us crammed into the cab of my truck was fairly amusing but I don’t think either of them really needed to drive at that point and Julie’s car could explode at any minute so…
My Uncle Lloyd is a terrific performer and I pretty much never get tired of hearing his voice. I think Tommy was duly impressed by that and they were both fully amused when I got a shout-out from the stage just for being there. Family is fun.
Because I was driving, I wasn’t nearly inebriated enough to have completely enjoyed the last two hours of that experience but for the most part it was a ball and I really love hanging out with the both of them–drunk or not. There are, however, some photos taken on my camera when I left the room that are bordering on pornographic. Hmm. I sense a bribe coming up.
Today I spent the morning with the family, completely goofing over Tyler (even though I’m having a hard time dealing with the slobber) and taking silly pictures. The afternoon found me cleaning and doing a shit-ton of laundry (that’s more than a butt-load) and then having a terrific Italian dinner with Brad and Dallas. The work they’ve done on their condo is amazing. It’s like a showroom of fabulous.
The evening ended peacefully on the couch with OSUJenn, catching up on the Daily Show while she knitted my fingerless mittens.
And really, this has just been a weekend full of the smiles and hugs of people who are happy to see me. And I’m not sure what’s better than that. I’m feeling awfully rich right now.

You realize this fuss over fingerless gloves makes you all seem like Dickens characters.
