It is a glorious day outside. The kind of day custom made for a parade. Appropriately enough, one just went past the windows.

I will celebrate veterans. I will celebrate the folks who fought in wars I didn’t live through and the ones fighting the war we’re all living through now. And I will also celebrate the resignation of Donald Rumsfeld and the Democratic party’s success in yesterday’s elections–and the hope that gives me that we can bring our soldiers home.

It IS possible to do both. A notion I think the last 8 years has kicked the shit out of.
