Annoying

So I got in to work pretty early today and was attempting to get a head start on some stuff I was unable to do this weekend thanks to a server problem. I plugged in my headphones, launched iTunes and was all ready to go when I noticed that my iTunes music library was empty. My music is still all sitting in my hard drive–it hasn’t disappeared–but for whatever reason, iTunes has suddenly decided to quit recognizing it.
So I fiddled. And I fiddled and fiddled some more. And the f-ing thing is still completely empty and refusing to cooperate with me. I did a reinstall. Still nothing. At this point, short of manually dragging all of my files directly into the program I have no idea what else to do. And I’m irritated with it and have pretty much wasted the time I should have been using to get a jump on my work. And yes, that’s on me but damnit! I wanted some music this morning. Is that too much to ask? Grr.
I had a terrific weekend. Lots of good, quality time with my favorite people, laughing, eating, drinking and just goofing off. OSUJenn’s birthday party was a total blast and yesterday BaconJ and I had the most perfect afternoon in a gorgeous early Spring day.
This week will be frantic but short. I leave Friday afternoon for the Holland Christening extravaganza. Whoo-hoo for four days in Florida! I’m really excited to see everyone, finally meet my God Daughter (I know, right?) and be in the sun.
So everything is good. I just want my music library back!

Hahaha! Thank you.

In iTunes, > Preferences > General > (direct it to the right folder), or failing that, > Advanced > Consolidate Library. Something has happened, probably to your registry, that has caused iTunes to lose the folders where your music is. Just re-aim it and it should be okay.
