Project Completion

In October of 2006 I started the process of burning all of my CDs to my hard drive.
On December 30th, 2007, I finished it. A year and two-months it took me to get it all done. That’s pathetic.
Nevertheless, I now have a digital library spanning about 20 years and 5000+ songs, all safely backed up and completely cataloged in iTunes.
What I had hoped to do was to transfer said library onto my laptop so that for once both machines would contain the same music. Something that would keep me from paying to download that song that I HAVE to listen to RIGHT now that is on my home computer.
Unfortunately, the music library is now so big that it won’t fit on my laptop. Typical.
At the moment the only thing I have here to listen to is the soundtrack to the movie Juno–which was brilliant, by the way. I absolutely loved it. The soundtrack is also wonderful.
In addition to the great CD purge, I spent my time off playing Ratchet & Clank on the PS2, shopping, finally putting away all of my laundry (good grief), watching some Law & Order Marathon, cooking steak dinner for New Year’s Eve and sleeping. I was almost completely unplugged from the internets during that time and honestly, it was a wonderful break.
And now I’m back at work, feeling kinda guilty, but not really, about not doing a single work-llike thing while I was off. I will probably be incredibly busy for the next few days but it was totally worth it.
And I got $75 for all the CDs at Half-Price Books. ![]()

Your vacation sounds kinda like mine… except I spent a LOT of time on the Internets… working on my blog, reading blogs, etc.
I go back tomorrow. I expect I’ll be incredibly busy for the next few years. But, again… totally worth it.
