I finally heard David Archuleta on American Idol last night. Holy Monkey! That kid is scary good.

Ellen already knew that and was apparently waiting to hear what I thought. This is how the conversation went last night:

Me: This show is annoying. Is it over yet?
Ellen: You love it! I think there are still three to go.
Me: Boo. Okay.

:Two songs later:

Me:You know, so far, nobody has had a really BAD performance. There are certainly some I like more than others but overall, there’s a lot more talent in this group than some I’ve seen.
Ellen: I really don’t like that Jason guy.
Me: Well, okay, but he’s not terrible. Annoying, but not terrible.
Ellen: Whatev. I hate him.

:David Archuleta sings:

We were completely silent during his entire performance. I might have actually been holding my breath.

Ellen: Well? What did you think.
Me: Considering that I have goosebumps all over, I think I liked it.
Ellen: I KNOW! He’s freaking RIDICULOUS!

Paula Abdul: “David. You are ridiculous.”

Me/Ellen: OH HA!

Ellen: It’s like listening to Jeeezus.

Paula Abdul: David. I just want to, I don’t know, squeeze your little head off and hang it on my rearview mirror.

All of America: WHAT?!

Me: I need to hear more from him.
Ellen: You love this show.
Me: I love David. There’s a difference.
Ellen: Shut up.
