And They’re Off!

Last night’s 90 minute Amazing Race opener was pretty promising. And of course, I loved the couple that lost the first round. The editors of this show are almost more manipulative than the folks at Survivor for making you root for the team they know are going to blow it. Bastards.

Has there ever been a team of young, attractive, white females who weren’t impossibly annoying? These two even have stupid names.

So far I’m inclined to root for the football wives from Atlanta, the father/son duo and the gay couple–although the internalized homophobia going on with them is already old. And damn, they look like walking Ken dolls, so my sympathy for any “anti-gay” persecution they feel they’ve endured ran dry after about the third time they made an issue of it themselves when nobody in the game had even uttered the word ‘girlfriends’.

Tanya says that the Dakota jackass gets the big W from her. He made that girl cry in the chair lift for no reason–jerk. And hello, who goes on a trek like this with a trick knee and doesn’t wear a brace? Gah. I can’t wait for next Thursday.
