Can You Say Shoes?
Rebecca and her mother arrived last night complete with the Malinois and a cargo hold full of shoes. Shoes, you say? Yes, shoes. Lots and lots and lots of shoes. And not just you’re average Payless or Target variety shoes. We’re talking Nike Air, Reebock, Cole Hahn, Teva, Saucony and Bass. All of them apparently barely worn or never worn in some cases. Apparently Elise has a thing about shoes touching her toes. She also has a thing about shoes. So she buys a ton of them and then chucks the ones she doesn’t like into a box. We just got that box. There must be at least a $1000 worth of shoes here. We were like kids at Christmas because we just don’t buy expensive shoes. We like them, we just don’t spend the money. I needed a new pair of tennis shoes for working out and now I have like, six. To say that I’m thrilled would be an understatement.
And speaking of shoes leads me to thinking about my feet, which you probably don’t want to hear about but it’s my blog and I can write about my feet if I want to. So if you’re not interested in my feet, skip this paragraph. I’m currently trying to get a cancellation appointment with a dermatologist to discuss whatever this is that has staked a claim on my feet since we moved to Atlanta. It flares up and flares down but it never completely goes away and my feet are starting to look like the aftermath of a great battle. Which in fact, they are. I’ve tried a myriad of otc and perscription products with no success and I’m ready for something stronger. A pill, a shot, an acid bath? I don’t care, it just needs to go.
Enough feet talk. Did I mention I got new shoes?
