Reloaded
Wow. The Matrix Reloaded was pretty amazing. Nothing but visual eye candy, despite a few moments where it looked like a video game, which was only a little distracting. We were in a great audience that really got into the film, clapping and cheering and laughing and generally just having a great time. I haven’t seen a movie that sparked that much audience enthusiasm in a long, long time. About half-way through the movie I realized that I didn’t care what the hell it was about as long as they kept hitting it with the action. Damn, the 14 minute fight scene on the highway? Relentless and exhausting. Fabulous scene. I just wish Jet Li, Chow Yun Fat, Jackie Chan and Michelle Yeoh had been there.
Before we fell asleep last night Tanya told me she loves meeting me for movies and things after work and going out socially together because it always feels like we’re on a date, even after all this time. And it’s true. Seeing her get off the elevator at Phipps last night was stupidly cool and watching her smile when she spotted me across the food court made my face light up. And even though there were three other folks from my office with us, she had my full attention and always will. Ain’t love grand?
In other news, the Air Conditioner is broken again. I went to the gym this morning and got my body temperature all ramped up, only to come in here and roast to death. Ugh.
Tanya’s stepmother and stepgrandmother are coming for Memorial Day weekend so I suspect there will be much cleaning and readying in our household for the next several days. We’ve been in moving mode for a few weeks now so the guest bedroom is full of yard sale shit and is going to need to be dealt with. Feh.
