Right This Red-Hot Second
We’re in the departure phase of our annual meeting insanity here at work. Basically, starting tomorrow, people begin leaving in waves for the Southwest United States and today they’re all sorting out last minute details on speeches and presentations and stuff they promised so-and-so they’d have finished by the meeting, etc.
And that means that somebody seems to need something from me every five minutes and it is always the MOST IMPORTANT THING EVAH! Yeah, right. So anyway, I’m getting lots of work done but none of it is my own. Whatever, at least I don’t have to actually go to this meeting.
The fundraiser last night was really nice but the venue was small and it was crowded, so we were all sweating and uncomfortable. We didn’t bid on anything but I think Shannon won something.
I didn’t want to get out of bed this morning but I managed my 35 minutes of cardio. Sarah just loaned me a heart-rate monitor to use the next time I go, which will be interesting.
My goal is to work upper body really hard tomorrow morning so I’m going to have to make sure to get to bed early tonight. Shouldn’t be a problem unless I get to where I can’t put Harry Potter down.
I’m only on page 200 but I’ve only managed to sit down and read it twice since Saturday. With no interruptions tonight I should be able to make serious headway. I have to finish it in time for lunch on Friday, when several people at work intend to get together to discuss it. I’m reserving all opinions until that time but I will say that I’ve already gotten teary-eyed once.
