A number of interesting things greeted me upon my arrival in Ohio yesterday:

It’s pretty cold. I saw no snow until I got very far north in Kentucky and then it started to become increasingly deeper with each passing mile until suddenly there were huge, heaping mounds of it all along the sides of the road. [...]
